Frequently asked.

What sellers ask us most
How are these businesses valued before sale?
Each valuation is built from three angles: comparable transactions in our 17-year database, sector-specific multiples (EBITDA, weekly turnover or rent ratio depending on the trade), and a buyer-demand pulse from our active register. The number we present is the one we believe will clear at the right buyer profile — not the highest theoretical asking price.
Why are sold prices not disclosed?
Most of our sellers ask for the final figure to remain confidential — to protect ongoing supplier and lease relationships, and to avoid setting a public benchmark for their sector. We respect that on every mandate. Buyers and sellers we represent are given the relevant comparables in private.
How long does a typical sale take?
For a well-presented business with clean books, 8–14 weeks from mandate to settlement is typical for hospitality and retail. Hard assets and licensed premises can take longer due to lease and council steps. We keep momentum with weekly seller updates and a tightly curated buyer shortlist — not a public scattergun.
Can I see references from past sellers?
Yes. We routinely connect prospective sellers with two or three past clients in a similar sector — by phone, on background. Ask the broker handling your introduction and we'll arrange it before you sign anything.
